Nighthawk signs with top team in Finland

January 15, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maryland NightHawks News Release

Upper Marlboro, MD. Maryland Nighthawk, Curtis Yarbrough, has recently signed and is playing in Finland with the Finnish team, Huima. Nighthawks owner Tom Doyle was pleased to announce this and has indicated that many European scouts have contacted the Nighthawks inquiring about players.

Doyle stated that "part of our organizations philosophy is to provide a forum for players to further develop and showcase their talents enabling them to move into higher paying leagues such as the NBA and top international leagues. Curtis is an extremely talented player and a terrific young man and the signing to the top Finnish team, while a loss for our team, is a boost to Curtis' career."

Assistant coach Brad Melton adds that "players and scouts should know that the Nighthawks organization is committed to signing the top basketball talent and working with these players to develop a winning culture as well as groom players to play in the NBA and internationally."
