Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON)- The Peterborough Petes are auctioning a Nick Ritchie game jersey in support of the second annual plane pull "Ultimate Challenge" in support of the Global Angel Charitable Organization.
The jersey is being auctioned through an online blind bid format on the Petes' website under the "Shop" tab. Bids will be accepted until midnight on Sunday, May 24, with a minimum bid of $200 (CAD).
The 2013/14 classic maroon jersey features a captain's "A" on the left breast, special liftlock patches on each shoulder, as well as OHL and CHL patches along with Ritchie's number 20. The Anaheim Ducks' first round (tenth overall) pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft played 212 OHL regular season games, 189 of which were with the Petes after being selected in the first round, second overall in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. He scored 122 goals, 108 assists, 230 points and 349 penalty minutes in his junior career. He also played 25 post-season games, leading the Soo Greyhounds to the OHL Western Conference Finals in 2015 against the Erie Otters.
The "Ultimate Challenge" event takes place at the Peterborough Airport on May 30, 2015, with the purpose of raising funds for those in need of urgent medical transportation assistance and last wish requests. Members of the public, along with local businesses, are encouraged to join the Petes and Cuddles for Cancer founder Faith Dickinson at the event by entering a team.
Fans can also support Petes players and coaches before the event by making a donation.
