Colorado Rapids News Release
Zardes Makes it Five
Gyasi Zardes was named to the MLS Team of the Week bench after scoring his 10th goal of the season in Colorado's 3-1 win over Vancouver on Saturday. The goal marked Zardes' fifth season with double-digit goals (2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022) and makes him just the 14th player in MLS history to accomplish that feat.
"I thought we were engaged," he said of the performance over the weekend. "But I thought that we did extremely well defensively, which allowed us to get forward much more often. And also, in transitioning, you know, the ball to [Jonathan Lewis], exposing their weaknesses was incredible. There's numerous times within the game that were good spells that we played extremely well, but I'm just happy we got the win."
Price Reaches New Club Milestone
Jack Price substituted into Saturday's match against Vancouver in the 68th minute, minutes before delivering an assist on Jonathan Lewis' goal in the Rapids' 3-1 win over the 'Caps. It marked Price's 35th assist all-time in Burgundy, surpassing Terry Cooke for second-most in club history. It was Price's first appearance since August 6 after returning from a chest injury that saw him miss the Rapids' last six games.

Record-Setting Rubio
Diego Rubio scored his 13th goal of the season in the 33rd minute of Saturday's match, surpassing Chris Henderson for fifth-most goals in Rapids history (32). The goal was also his 12th game-winning goal as a member of the Rapids, tying Paul Bravo for most in club history. The Chilean has now contributed to a goal in each of his last seven home matches (five goals, two assists).
"What is interesting is someone who's been a forward his whole life is being asked to play a slightly different role. And little by little he gets better and better at it," said head coach Robin Fraser.
"The thing about him, obviously, is that he's been scoring goals. He's got great confidence in front of the goal now, and because of the number of passes and the number of goals that he's hit this year I feel like he thinks every time he gets the ball, he can create a goal and what a great mindset for an attacking player to be in."
Gone Streaking
Colorado extended its home unbeaten run to six games (3-0-3) with the 3-1 win over Whitecaps FC. The Rapids have lost only two of their last 31 regular season home matches (17-2-12) dating back to May 2021.

Mile-High Advantage
San Jose hasn't won any of its last 10 visits to Colorado (0-5-5) dating back to 2014. The Rapids have only one longer home unbeaten streak against a single opponent in MLS (including playoffs), going 11 in a row without losing to New England at home from 2003 to 2013.
