Newest Rampage Carlton Brewster To Tape Radio Show Tonight

Carlton Brewster (Grand Rapids, Mich.) will join Sparky McEwen, head coach and director of football operations for the Grand Rapids Rampage; Michael Baker, offensive and special teams coordinator for the Rampage; and show host Rick Berkey.

WHAT: An hour-long radio show entitled "The Fox Pontiac/Buick/GMC Pigskin Party" will be taped for WTKG 1230 AM. Host Berkey is devoting the show to previewing the Rampage's upcoming 10th Anniversary Season.

Taping will go from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. (EDT). The show will air from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. Pizza will be provided for those in attendance.

THE STORY: Brewster, born and raised in Grand Rapids, was a standout quarterback at Creston High School (1998-2000) under then-head coach McEwen. Creston advanced to the MHSAA Division 3 championship game in 1999. Brewster became a wide receiver at Ferris State University where he ranks second in school history in career receptions (234), receiving yards (3,184) and receiving touchdowns (25).

This summer, Brewster was signed as a free agent by the NFL's Cleveland Browns. He collected three receptions for 21 yards in two preseason games before being traded to the Green Bay. He was cut from the Packers on the NFL's final preseason cut-down day.

Brewster marks the Rampage's first signing since the beginning of the Arena Football League's free agent signing period at midnight this morning (Oct. 2).
