Newark YMCA to host tryout for the Newark Express

Newark, NJ - August 23rd, The Newark YMCA will play host to the Final Open Try-out for the 2006-2007 Basketball Season for the Newark Express. On Saturday, September 16th, between the hours of 4pm & 8pm the final players will be selected to attend training camp.

The Newark YMCA has a state of the art Cardiovascular Fitness Center that features more than 25 stations designed for a maximum conditioning and cardio workout. The Strength Training Center consists of equipment from some of the leading manufacturers such as CYBEX, BodyMaster and a full line of free weights. The four lane Indoor Pool is heated for Y member's conformability, and the lap, aquarobics and swim classes for both kids and adults make the Newark Y the popular choice for fun, healthy activities.

The gymnasium that will host the Newark Express try-out, includes two full courts that are available for basketball, volleyball and a variety of other recreational activities. The Y also has two racquetball courts and one squash court, all of which can be reserved in advance for member use.

Conveniently located at 600 Broad Street, in the heart of Newark's newly revitalized downtown business district, the Newark YMCA is home to many ball players looking to stay in shape, and hone their skills. The Washington Park Station stop on the newly opened NEWARK Light Rail will leave you across the street from the YMCA.
