
Newark Blows Past Watertown 12-5

Watertown-Newark (13-9) scored 11 runs over the final six innings to beat Watertown (8-14) 12-5. Daniel Thorpe (St. Joseph's (PA.)) got the win 4-0 while Mike Peters (Alcorn St.) took the loss (0-1).
The Pilots started the scoring off in the first with a solo home run off Brent Langston (Delta St.). Watertown took the lead back in the second with two runs. That lead held until the fourth. The Wizards were outscored the rest of the game 11-3.
Thorpe was solid on the mound. He gave up five runs in seven innings and struck out six. Peters ran into trouble in the fifth and was finished. He tallied four runs in five innings.
Josh Crowdus (Delta St.) was the star at the plate for Newark. He went 4-6 with three RBI's and a run scored. Edgard Salas (Alcron St.) had a breakout game for Watertown. He banged out a 3-4 night with a home run and three RBI's.
Watertown is on the road tomorrow to take on Oneonta at 7:00 PM. Newark also hits the road to face Elmira. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
