Newark Bears Host Chance to Win 3/4 Carat Diamond, Musical Auditions

The Newark Bears are offering several family-friendly promotions and exciting events for fans during the team's upcoming homestand, beginning Friday.
As the club opens up interleague play this weekend, the Bears welcome the St. Paul Saints of the American Association into town for a three-game set at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.
Some of the highlights of this weekend's events are listed below:
Friday, June 1 - 6:35 p.m.
Fireworks
Following the conclusion of the game, and every Friday home game, the Bears will provide a fireworks show for fans. Members of the Kids Club can enjoy the show from on the field.
Locker Wars
Inspired by the hit television show Storage Wars, fans will have an opportunity to become auction hunters, when they take a look inside lockers filled with prizes and bid on the contents. The auction begins in the third inning. Adults 21-and-older are eligible to bid. This week's version is sponsored by Green Sports NJ - a Cranford-based company that specializes in selling both new and gently-used sports equipment at greatly-reduced discounts. Come out to the ballpark and check out what's in our locker!
Face Painting
Gina Clavelli of Funtastic Facepainting will be in attendance at Friday's game. Stop by and see Gina on the concourse to get your face painted!
Autographs
After the game, fans are invited to join the Bears on the field for a post-game autograph session.
Eat with the Bears
Head over to Brick City Bar & Grill after the game to share a meal with the Bears. Get to know players and staff while enjoying some delicious food just a few blocks from the ballpark.
Saturday, June 2 - 6:35 p.m.
"Broadway Meets Baseball" Musical Auditions
Are you destined to be a Broadway star? This could be your big break! Head out to Saturday night's game for a chance to audition in front of a representative from Leftfield Productions, Inc. They are looking for someone to perform in a lead role in an upcoming musical that will be performed this July at Riverfront Stadium.
Auditions are free with the purchase of a game ticket and will begin at 5 p.m.
Autographs
Fans are once again welcomed to join the Bears on the field after the game to collect autographs of their favorite players.
Sunday, June 3- 1:05 p.m.
Diamond Dig
Andrea's Jeweler and the Bears are giving you a chance to win a =BE carat diamond, valued at $3000! For $5, fans are given five minutes to find a diamond that is hidden in the infield dirt. The first person to find the item within the allotted time takes home the prize.
Mother/Child Pitch & Catch
Moms can bring their children onto the field for a catch prior to Sunday's game. The catch will begin at 11 a.m. and is free with purchase of a game ticket. Participants must register beforehand at the Will Call window prior to entering the stadium. Make sure to bring your glove and ball to the stadium!
Kids Eat Free
Children 12-and-under get to eat for free. Parents or guardians can pick up a voucher for free food at the Will Call window before the third inning.
Kids Club - Running Base and Free Gift
Prior to the game, Kids Club members are treated to a free mystery gift upon entering the ballpark. After the game, kids can show off their base running skills as they participate in the Run the Bases event.
