New Jersey 3, Rockland 2
SS Angel Berroa's sacrifice fly in the seventh inning scored CF Danny Santiesteban from third base and lifted the New Jersey Jackals past the Rockland Boulders, 3-2. The Jackals swept the series from the Boulders and have now won three straight. New Jersey starting pitcher Steve Fox notched the win as he went 6 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Fox is 2-0 on the season. 3B Nick Giarraputo hit his third home of the season for New Jersey in a 1-for-4 night.
Quebec 9, St. Paul 2
Quebec scored four runs in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and would cruise from there to a 9-2 win over the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. Capitales C Josue Peley had a solid night at the plate going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and a run batted in. 3B Jonathan Malo had a 1-for-3 night with three RBI including a two-run shot in the eighth inning to extend the Quebec lead to 9-2. Capitales starting pitcher Karl Gelinas had a superb outing allowing an unearned run on eight hits with six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. For the Saints in defeat, 3B Tanner Townsend went 2-for-4 with a home run.
