
New York Titans Late Rally Falls Short in Minnesota

The New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League were defeated 17-14 by the Minnesota Swarm despite a late rally Sunday, February 18th in the second game of the team's home-and-home series with Minnesota. Titans Captain Casey Powell now sits atop the NLL as the league's leader in points and assists, with a total of 54 points off of 38 assists and 16 goals for the season.
Titans forward Pat Maddalena was the game's highest scorer Sunday night with five goals. Maddalena tied Titans Assistant Captain Ryan Boyle for the leader in points on the night with eight. Boyle had two goals and six assists. Casey Powell scored four goals and dished three assists in the match against the Swarm.
Dean Hill and Kasey Beirnes each scored three goals for the Swarm.
The Titans game against Minnesota at the Garden Saturday night marked the first time Titans Head Coach Adam Mueller played his former team. Mueller was the assistant coach for the Swarm when it first joined the league in 2005 and became Head Coach of the Swarm last season, when he led the club to an 8-8 record and to the playoffs for the first time in team history.
