New York Liberty News Release
WHITE PLAINS, NY - The New York Liberty is teaming up with White Plains Hospital to help raise awareness and inspire others in the fight against breast cancer during this year's Breast Health Awareness Night on Friday, August 23 at the Westchester County Center. The Liberty will host the Atlanta Dream with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
As part of WNBA Fit Month, all teams will host breast health awareness games during the month of August. This year, the Liberty is partnering with White Plains Hospital, who will serve as the presenting sponsor during this annual event.
Since the inception of the WNBA Breast Health Awareness month, player's pink and black jerseys have been auctioned off during the games. Honoring this tradition, the Liberty will conduct a silent auction beginning when doors open at 6:30 p.m. until halftime.
In addition to signed apparel, fans will also have the opportunity to win special experiences such as an all-expense paid trip to the final game of the season, a one-on-one training session with WNBA legend and Ring of Honor member Teresa Weatherspoon and more.
The proceeds of the auction will benefit White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care.
