Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede will have a new look to their lineup tonight when they face-off against the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena. Newly acquired defensemen, Blake Friesen and Alex Goligoski will both be in the lineup along with forward Matt Moreland.

Goligoski, (GAUL-ah-gos-kee) a 5'10, 175-pound native of Grand Rapids, MN, is viewed as a very skilled offensive blueliner. Goligoski had an assist last night in Grand Rapids 5-2 loss to Duluth East in the Section 7AA championship game in Duluth, MN. Goligoski finished the season as one of the top defensive scorers in the state of Minnesota and recently accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Minnesota.

Friesen (FREE-zen) is considered a big, offensive/defenseman who sees the ice very well. The 6'1, 185-pound native of Excelsior, MN played in three games last weekend with the Stampede and will be in the lineup tonight, but will see limited action due to a minor knee injury. Friesen has committed to Minnesota State-Mankato for the 2005-06' season

Matt Moreland is the brother of Stampede goaltender, Kasey and comes from Grand Forks High School. The 5'11, 175-pound forward recently scored the winning goal in the North Dakota State High School championship game for Grand Forks High School. Moreland is expected to bring some offensive punch to the lineup for the Herd.

Kyle Laughlin (Lock-lin) will also return to the lineup for the Stampede tonight after recovering from a broken wrist. In two games with the Stampede this season, Laughlin had one goal and registered a plus/minus rating of plus-1.
