New Pitcher Joins Cougars Today

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that pitcher Malcom Culver has joined the Cougars from the Royals' extended spring complex in Arizona. Culver is active for today's noon game against the Lake County Captains at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

Culver (8th Rd, 2008) was drafted as a pitcher, switched to infield during the 2008 season and back to pitcher for the 2011 season. The right-hander made 18 relief appearances last season for the Burlington Royals (Rookie), striking out 38 batters in 37 innings of work.
