TULSA, Okla., Jan. 18, 2012 - The New Jersey Nets announced today that they have signed forward Larry Owens of the Tulsa 66ers. Owens is the second GATORADE Call-Up of the season for Tulsa.
Playing in his third campaign with the 66ers, Owens was averaging 13.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 assists through 10 games (seven starts).
Owens participated in training camp and appeared in one preseason game with the Washington Wizards this past December. Last season, the Oral Roberts product earned two GATORADE Call-ups with the San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards.
Last season, the 66ers led the NBA D-League with three players earning a total of four GATORADE Call-ups.
The 66ers (10-11) return to the court tonight against the Texas Legends (8-13) in Frisco. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT inside Dr. Pepper Arena.
