New England Surge Ready to Rumble Against Rochester Raiders at Last Home Game

Worcester, MA. New England Surge, currently # 2 seed in the Atlantic Division of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), is about to face its fierce rivals Rochester Raiders, # 1 in the Atlantic Division, this Saturday, June 16th at the DCU Center. Coming off of a strong win against the Lehigh Valley Outlawz on Saturday, June 2, making it a six game winning streak since Roy Lucas, Jr., Owner/President took over the interim Head Coach responsibility. Surge's overall league standing is 7-3. The Surge promises an exciting game, ready to "RAM" the Raiders towards their 7th win in a row in front of their home team fans and supporters at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. This win would move the Surge within a half-game from the top for the regular season Atlantic Division Championship.

Interim Head Coach Roy Lucas, Jr. states, "The Surge has come to its own since our first game against Rochester on March 24th and the players and coaches mean business. We feel confident that we will be giving our home fans and supporters one of the most exciting professional athletic games they have ever seen." Lucas continued, "The team is ready, willing, and ABLE to beat the Raiders securing a position within a half-game of the # 1 seat of the regular season championship in the Atlantic Division."

The New England Surge holds the second position in the CIFL Atlantic Division behind the Rochester Raiders. Saturday's last home game promises to be the most exciting game for Worcester and Central Mass fans and supporters in Surge's inaugural season. The last regular season game (12th in the season) is against the NY/NJ Revolution, (last in the division), on June 23rd. The Surge have clinched a home playoff game and can move within a half-game of Rochester for the regular season Atlantic Division Championship with a victory over the Raiders on Saturday, June 16. The Surge has home game advantage for the playoff game on July 7th. Playoff tickets will go on sale after Saturday's game. Don't miss out!

About CIFL Play Offs

July 7th The top four teams in each division play in the play offs as follows:

-- The 4th place team play 1st place team at the 1st place team's home field

-- The 3rd place team plays the 2nd place team at their home team July 14

--Top two division play off winners play against each other for Atlantic Division Championship

-- Same as above for Great Lakes Division playoffs

CIFL Championship July 21 or July 28th Atlantic Division against Great Lakes Div

Surge Home Games & Practice

June 16th the Surge face #1 Division standing Rochester Raiders at the DCU Center 7PM with a block party from 5-6:30PM at the DCU Plaza, then away June 23 against NY/NJ Revolution. The Surge's regular practice schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at The DCU Center Worcester MA from 7-10PM.
