New England Revolution Youth Development Highlights: May 12, 2021

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - All four New England Revolution Academy teams took the field in MLS NEXT spring season play last weekend with a trip to face Met Oval in Maspeth, N.Y. The Under-15s led the charge for New England, claiming a 3-0 victory to extend the team's unbeaten streak to six matches.

The U-19, U-17, U-15, and U-14 Revolution Academy teams will travel to New York again next weekend for matches against New York Soccer Club on Saturday, May 15. Additionally, Revolution II resumes its 2021 USL League One season on Wednesday night with a home match against Union Omaha at 5:00 p.m. ET (ESPN+), followed by a meeting with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Sunday, May 16 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Earlier today, Major League Soccer announced details for the inaugural MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, which will crown champions in four age groups (U15, U16, U17, and U19). The championship tournament will take place from June 25 - July 3 in Frisco, Texas, as the top 128 teams in the nation will compete for hardware to conclude the inaugural 10-month MLS NEXT season. Designed to replicate the current MLS playoff format, the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs will be a single-elimination tournament with 32 teams in each age group. Revolution MLS NEXT Highlights

Midfielder Triton Beauvois (2003 - Malden, Mass.) found his scoring touch once again for the U-19s, finishing off a cross from defender Zachary Sardi-Santos (2003 - Newton, Mass.).

Goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts (2004 - Westborough, Mass.) returned from injury on Saturday, making three saves in a 1-1 draw for the U-17s. Forward Brandonn Bueno (2004 - Framingham, Mass.) scored the lone goal for New England with an assist from Matiwos Rumley (2005 - Hebron, Conn.).

Forward Olger Escobar (2006 - Lynn, Mass.) bagged a brace for the U-15s, scoring both goals over a nine-minute span before being subbed off for Enzo Goncalves (2006 - Hyannis, Mass.), who scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season in the final minute of the match.

Forwards Raphael Alves (2007 - Framingham, Mass.) and Everson Goglia (2007 - Bristol, R.I.) both tallied goals in the opening 10 minutes for the U-14s on Saturday.
