FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Currently on top of the Group B standings following Sunday night's win over Santos Laguna, the New England Revolution looks to secure its spot in the SuperLiga 2009 semifinals when the club hosts the Kansas City Wizards at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, in the first game of a special SuperLiga doubleheader at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised nationally in Spanish on Telefutura, while streaming video of the match will be available in English on superliga2009.com. ESPN Deportes Radio will carry the game nationally in Spanish, while local listeners can tune into the WEEI Radio Network for English audio on a taped-delay basis following Red Sox coverage.

It will be a soccer-filled evening at Gillette Stadium, as the Revolution-Wizards match will be followed by a showdown between Mexican rivals Santos Laguna and Atlas, the other two teams in Group B of SuperLiga 2009.

The Revs can clinch a spot in the semifinal round of the competition with a victory over the Wizards, regardless of the result of the second match between Santos Laguna and Atlas. If the Revolution takes the full three points from the Wizards, then the club will have a total of six points with just one game remaining and will stay top of the group. Because Kansas City and Atlas enter Wednesday night's games with just one point apiece and Santos Laguna with zero points, a win assures the Revs of their passage to the next round.
