New Broadcast Platform in Place for 2015-16 IceMen Season
October 5, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release
Evansville, IN - The Evansville IceMen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Ottawa Senators and AHL's Binghamton Senators, officially announced today a new broadcast platform for all IceMen home and away games, effective October 17 when the team hosts the Indy Fuel at the Ford Center opening night.
Using the streaming service MixLr, the organization will now be capable of providing fans free audio access to listen to all IceMen games and weekly IceMen LIVE shows simply by going to www.evansvilleicemen.com or downloading the MixLr mobile app. The first live broadcast will be tonight's (Monday, Oct. 5) IceMen LIVE from 6pm-7:30pm.
While new to Evansville, this streaming service has proven effective in other professional sports markets, including in Rapid City, SD, where the ECHL's Rapid City Rush have found success in providing easy access for fans to listen to games via the team's website.
In addition to providing crystal clear sound quality, the new platform will allow the IceMen to control the broadcast and commercial breaks on-site and provide a global reach for its growing fan base. Evansville's Training Camp roster features a large number of players from European countries and Canada and the organization has seen an increased amount of interest from those areas in recent months.
As was the case last season, all 72 games will also be simulcast on ECHL.TV, allowing fans interested in watching IceMen games the ability to do so through an online subscription by going to http://echl.neulion.com/echl/home and creating an account. The league has announced that it is offering a discounted rate to those who subscribe to ECHL.TV now through October 23.
Companies interested in sponsoring the Evansville IceMen broadcasts for the 2015-16 season can contact Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations, John Peterson, at 812-463-6129 or jpeterson@evansvilleicemen.com for more information on the offered sponsorship packages.
