Necks Prepare for Opener in New Digs
April 15, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. With just 8 DAYS remaining before the team's "Season Premier" game next Saturday versus the Billings Mavericks, the Odessa Roughnecks unveiled their new corporate offices. The contemporary and industrial theme of the building has been admired all week by passer-buyers and now members of the media and season ticket holders had their chance to get a personal tour. "It is important that our home away from the coliseum shows our guests and ticket holders that we are first-rate professionals and that we care. This space does both very well." explained team president Tommy Benizio. The 2,500 square foot structure had served the basin as the Henderson/Collins Drug Store and Soda Fountain for decades until it closed in 1997. The building has gone under a major renovation over the past two months to become suitable to house Odessa's professional football team. A few improvements still remain including the refacing of the building facade and sliding metal walls and doors before it is considered complete and open for business. With just a few days before the home opener, season ticket holders were able to pick up their tickets, grab a bite to eat and meet players and dance team members at today's function. In additional news, the team heads to Corpus Christi via charter bus tomorrow for a special Monday night match-up. The 3-0 Roughnecks face a tough 3-1 Hammerheads team and all of the action can be heard starting at 7:05 PM on 97 Gold FM. Tickets for the April 23rd game continue to sell fast and are available at all Albertson's area locations, by logging onto www.starticketsplus.com, or by calling 800-585-3737.
