Summerside Storm News Release
(Summerside, PE) When the London Lightning come to Prince Edward Island this Thursday to take on the Summerside STORM it will be a battle of the top two teams in the NBL this season. London has clinched the Central Division with a record of 32-6 while the STORM have clinched the Atlantic Division with a record of 24-14. Both teams have byes into the playoff semi-finals and both teams have two games to play in the regular season.
The STORM are the only team in the league to have a winning record against the Lightning this season having won both at home and in London while losing one game in the series, an overtime contest in London. Many are saying this could be a preview of the NBL finals.
Meanwhile, playoff dates were released today for the STORM. The team will open up game one of their semi-final on Sunday March 24th at Credit Union Place with game two scheduled for Tuesday March 26. If a fifth and deciding game is needed in the series it will be played in Summerside on April 1st.
Neither London nor the STORM know who their playoff opponent will be as there are still five other teams in the league battling for the last three playoff spots and it looks like it won't be decided until the final games this weekend.
The STORM have also announced that individual game playoff tickets will go on sale later this week with more details to come.
