Two close games for Cape Breton - one win, one loss - helped keep the Highlanders in the upper half of the standings. Bruce Massey and Jamal Reynolds paced the Sydney crew with 26.0 and 24.0 ppg, respectively, while Reynolds leads Massey in rebounding, 13.0 rpg to 11.0 rpg.

Afgter two losses to start the 2018-19 NBL Canada season, the Hurricanes took two victories over the Saint John Riptide to advance to a .500 season. Gabe Freeman's 14.5 ppg this week was tops in the two low-scoring Hurricanes victories, while Joel Kindred pulled down 6.5 rebounds per game. Cliff Clinkscales dished out 6.5 assists per game this week.

The Titans split two games this week - a much-needed win over the Windsor Express in Kitchener, followed by a road loss to the Cape Breton Highlanders. Tramar Sutherland was the top scorer for the Titans with an 18.0 ppg average, while Derek Hall averaged a double-double of 15.5 ppg and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Anthony Gaines and Maurice Bolden averaged 15.0 points per game as London split their two matchups this week. Marvin Phillips returned to the London lineup with 14.0 ppg in his two games; Garrett Williamson pulled down nearly 10 rebounds per game (9.5 rpg average).

Not only are the Moncton Magic atop the standings, they are a perfect 5-0 to start the season with two victories over the St.
John's Edge. Isaiah Tate finished the week with 20.5 points per game, while Denzell Taylor claimed a 9.5 rebounds per game average, tops for the team.

With two losses against Halifax, the Saint John Riptide are currently 0-3 and tied for last place in the standings. Chris Early, who was drafted in the 2018 NBL Canada Entry Draft, finished the week with 18.5 points per game, the top scorer for the Riptide. Brent Arrington led the Riptide with rebounds (7.5 rpg) and assists (6.5 apg).

Despite an opening night with 6,000 fans packing Mile One Centre, the St. John's Edge lost their home opener - and a Sunday afternoon rematch - to the division-leading Moncton Magic. The top scorers for the Edge include Todd Brown Jr. (16 ppg) and Guillaume Payen-Boucard (14.0 ppg), while both men were the top rebounders, with a 7.0 rpg average).

The Sudbury Five are unbeaten in their maiden season, picking up a 112-107 triumph over the London Lightning on Thursday night. In the victory, Jaylen Blend led the Five with 28 points, while Braylon Rayson (16 pts, 10 ast) and Grandy Glaze (18 pts, 10 rebounds) finished the game with double-doubles.

The Windsor Express have never started a season with an 0-3 record - until this year. The Motor City crew lost two tough games to St. John's and Kitchener-Waterloo, and are now looking up at their rivals in the standings. Veterans Juan Pattillo (15.5 ppg) and Ryan Anderson (15.0 ppg) were the top scorers for the Express, while Brian Addison averaged 8.0 boards per game this week.
NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Bruce Massey of the Cape Breton Highlanders has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 25, 2018.
Massey, a 6'3" guard who played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State, also averaged a double-double for the Highlanders this week, averaging 26 ponits and 11 rebounds; he also averaged 6.5 assists in Cape Breton's two contests.

NBL CANADA CANADIAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jamal Reynolds of the Cape Breton Highlanders has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending November 25, 2018.
Reynolds, a 6'4" guard who played collegiately at Canisius (NY), averaged a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds in two Highlanders games this week, including a comeback victory over Kitchener-Waterloo.
"This year, it seems that the Cape Breton Highlanders team is playing wih a much more focused lineup," said NBL League Statistician Chuck Miller. "The Highlanders have started the season strongly, and Jamal Reynolds and Bruce Massey are two strong veterans who have helped lead the Sydney crew to the upper half of the standings."
