March 3, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
FINALLY HOME: The Florida Flame plays at home for the first time in a month tonight when the Roanoke Dazzle come calling. Coach Dennis Johnson's team last played at Germain Arena, where they are 4-11, on February 5.
THESE ARE OUR WHITE JERSEYS: They've combined to play 14 games in a Florida uniform, but Smush Parker, Sean Finn and Jeff Aubry have yet to put on a Flame white home jersey. This is even Parker's second stint with the team, with a GATORADE Call-Up to the Phoenix Suns mixed in.
FIGHTING TO STAY ALIVE: With a modest two-game win streak in its pocket, Fayetteville continues its fight to stay alive for an NBDL postseason berth at home tonight against Huntsville. The Patriots are 7½ games behind the fourth-place Flight with 14 games to play. The top four regular-season finishers compete in the NBDL's sudden-death postseason format.
NBDL QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I really don't know what to think. I'm trying to keep all the excitement down...I'm trying to hold it all in check. It is truly an honor though,"...Florida Flame head coach and former NBA great Dennis Johnson told the Ft. Myers News-Press about his nomination to the Basketball Hall of Fame. The 2005 class will be announced April 4.
