NBDL daily developments
April 9, 2004 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
COLUMBUS, Ga.: With a little help from Huntsville, Asheville can claim the first regular season championship in team history with a road victory over the Columbus Riverdragons. For that to happen tonight, an Altitude win must be accompanied by a Charleston loss to Huntsville.
CHARLESTON, S.C.: The Charleston Lowgators could clinch the remaining home court berth in the NBDL Delta Air Lines Postseason Classic and keep their hopes alive for the regular season title with a victory at home over Huntsville.
ROANOKE, Va.: The Roanoke Dazzle can secure the final berth in the postseason classic with a victory at home over Fayetteville.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? The difference between a possible first place finish and possible elimination from the NBDL postseason probably lies not in who was promoted, but in who has returned. Fayetteville, laboring for the final postseason berth, has had three Gatorade Callups. All three signed for the remainder of the season with their NBA teams. Asheville, 26-18 and knocking on the door of an NBDL regular-season title, had three callups, two of which returned to Asheville.
MATEEN RETURNS: Huntsville received a boost to its postseason hopes with the return of point guard Mateen Cleaves after a 10-day callup to the Cavaliers. Cleaves is averaging 14.1 points, 5.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds. The Flight lost two of three games while he was with Cleveland.
