WIZARDS ACQUIRE GUARD LAWRENCE WESTBROOK
The Dakota Wizards announced today that they have acquired guard Lawrence Westbrook (6-0 185, Minnesota) via the Available Player Pool. Westbrook will practice with the team this week and will be in uniform this weekend as the Wizards play host to the defending NBA Development League Champion the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Friday and Saturday. Westbrook, 23, was drafted in this year's NBA Development League Draft in the third round by the Maine Red Claws. He appeared in nine games with the Red Claws averaging 4.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists. As a senior at Minnesota, Westbrook averaged 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists and shot 41% from behind the arc. Westbrook was a Big-10 honorable mention his junior and senior year at Minnesota.

Richard Roby led the offensive attack for the Vipers, scoring 25 points and pulling down six rebounds. Ish Smith made his debut for Rio Grande Valley scoring 11 points and handing out seven assists. Mouhammed Faye tallied a career-high 18 points in the win.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at NBA D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:
39 players with NBA D-League experience competed in 13 NBA games last night, 10 as starters.
Phoenix's Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a win over Cleveland.
Orlando's Brandon Bass tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds in a 99-98 overtime win over Philadelphia.
Washington's Andray Blatche recorded 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals in a loss to Milwaukee.
Cleveland's Ramon Sessions started and scored 19 points to go along with eight assists and three steals.
