MILWAUKEE'S ALEXANDER ASSIGNED TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE FORT WAYNE MAD ANTS
Milwaukee Bucks forward Joe Alexander was assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Milwaukee's NBA D-League affiliate. Alexander's assignment is the 15th to an NBA D-League affiliate this season. Originally selected by Milwaukee with the 8th overall selection in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft, Alexander appeared in 59 games for the Bucks last season, averaging 4.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 12.1 minutes.
SUNS RECALL GRIFFIN FROM IOWA
The Phoenix Suns have recalled rookie forward Taylor Griffin from the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League. Originally assigned for his second stint in Iowa on Dec. 28, the 6-7, 238-pound Griffin appeared in 10 games, averaging 8.8 points and 5.8 rebounds in 27.1 minutes. Griffin scored in double figures four times in helping to lead the Energy to a 6-4 mark.
DANRIDGE RETURNS TO T-BIRDS' ROSTER
The Albuquerque Thunderbirds today announced the team has re-acquired Tony Danridge, who fills a spot vacated by Keith McLeod, who was waived due to injury. Danridge has played 11 games with the T-Birds this season, averaging 8.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
BAKERSFIELD ACQUIRES PATRICK MUTOMBO
The Bakersfield Jam announced the acquisition of guard/forward Patrick Mutombo from the available player pool early Wednesday afternoon. The 6'6", 210-lb guard/forward played for Voigt at Metropolitan State College in Denver, and after three years in Italy's top division played last season for Trikala 2000 of the Greek A1 league (3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds in 12 minutes per game). Mutombo will fill the roster spot vacated by Jam forward Amara Sy, who has left the team. After missing the start of the season with a wrist injury he had been a standout performer for the Jam, averaging 15.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 16 games (15 starts) for Bakersfield.

Four Austin players scored 20 or more, led by Malik Hairston's 35, Curtis Jerrells 24, Alonzo Gee 21, and Dwayne Jones 20. Jones notched his sixth straight double-double and 17th of the season with 23 rebounds. Adidas players of the game were Eddie Basden and Hairston. Basden added 12 points, seven rebounds, and led the team in steals and assists with four.
Fort Wayne guard Robert Kurz fouled out in overtime with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Six other Mad Ants scored in double figures: Oliver Lafayette 23 points, Rashad Anderson 18, Roderick Wilmont 17, Ryan Ayers 16, Sean Sonderleiter 14, Kyle McAlarney 12.
The T-Birds scored a season high 71 points in the first half and had seven players reached double figures for the first time this season. Carlos Powell led the feat for Albuquerque with 21 points. Chad Toppert and Antoine Agudio each added 17, Tony Danridge (12), Kevin Pittsnogle (12) and Kurt Looby (10). Marcus Hubbard scored 11 in his T-Birds debut.
Blake Ahearn led all scorers with 26 points for Bakersfield. Jeremy Wise added 17 for the visitors.
A Doug Thomas double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) and another 30-plus point performance by Desmon Farmer lifted the Reno Bighorns to their fourth-straight victory. Thomas notched his second double-double in the last three games, while Farmer, who has now topped the 30-point plateau in three of the last four games and seven times overall this season, led all scorers with 32 points, helped by a 12-of-13 night from the stripe.
Orien Greene paced the Flash with 19 points. Bennet Davis came off the bench to score 16 and grab 10 boards for Utah.

29 players with NBA D-League experience competed in 13 NBA games last night, four as a starter.
As a starter for Orlando, Matt Barnes recorded a double-double of 10 points and sixteen rebounds, to go with six assists.
