RIO GRANDE VALLEY'S HARRIS NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

Mike Harris of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers was yesterday named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 11, 2010. Harris led Rio Grande Valley to a 2-1 record last week, including a 2009-10 NBA D-League season high 48 points to go with 24 rebounds in an overtime victory over the Dakota Wizards in Bismarck on Jan. 17. Harris averaged 34.4 points, shooting 58 percent (40-of-67) from the field to go with 14.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

JAM ADDS SIZE IN TRADE WITH IOWA

The Bakersfield Jam filled a hole in the trade market on Tuesday afternoon, acquiring Kent State center John Edwards from the Iowa Energy in exchange for forward Justin Hawkins. In a 16-game stint with the Sioux Falls Skyforce last season, Edwards averaged 9.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 20.6 minutes per game. Hawkins, a New Mexico State product, was one of Bakersfield's allocation players. He averaged 10.9 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Jam in 15 games (seven starts) this season.

BIGHORNS ACQUIRE KOROLEV FROM ALBUQUERQUE

The Reno Bighorns have acquired 6-9 forward Yaroslav Korolev from the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in exchange for forward Marcus Hubbard, the team announced today. Korolev is averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 boards per game this season. He has recorded three double-doubles, and has registered double figures in scoring 14 times in the 2009-10 season. Hubbard joined the Bighorns in a post-draft trade with Rio Grande Valley. With Reno, Hubbard averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

Curtis Withers had 31 points and 13 rebounds, while Maurice Baker added 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead Dakota over Rio Grande Valley.

Mike Harris, the reigning D-League Performer of the Week, led the Vipers with 22 points.

Five players scored at least 20 points for Austin, led by 31 from Malik Hairston in a win over Erie.

Cedric Jackson paced the BayHawks with 34 points and 13 assists.

Coby Karl had 36 points and 11 rebounds and Donell Taylor had 23 points and nine rebounds for Idaho in an overtime win over Utah.

Dontell Jefferson led Utah with 22 points.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at NBA D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:

Eight players with NBA D-League experience competed in two NBA games last night, one as a starter.

Rafer Alston started and finished with eight points and five rebounds for Miami in a win over Indiana.
