SUNDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Sunday's games
Pops Mensah-Bonsu scored 39 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to help the Austin Toros defeat the Colorado 14ers 131-124 in overtime. Marcus Williams added 30 points and Eric Dawson scored 22 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Dwayne Jones, in his first game with the team since being acquired via trade, scored 13 points and had 8 rebounds.
The 14ers were led in scoring by 20 points apiece from Joe Dabbert and John Lucas. Colorado's bench scored 56 points and had four players scoring in double figures. Lamar Butler and Trey Gilder each added 13 points and Kentrell Gransberry chipped in 10 points.
Led by Blake Ahearn's 32 points and D-League record 16 made free throws, Dakota defeated the Mad Ants. Dakota had 6 players in double figures, including Renaldo Major and Richard Hendrix with 16 points each.
Taj McCullough led all scorers with 34 points and Coleman Collins added 22 points and 10 rebounds for Fort Wayne.
Luke Jackson led Idaho with 23 points, while Mildon Ambres recorded his second straight double-double, with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Lance Allred and Jason Ellis also finished with double-doubles, Allred with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Ellis scoring 10 and 15.
Damone Brown scored 17 points for Reno and Antonio Meekings followed with 16.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:
24 players with D-League experience competed in seven NBA games last night, five as starters.
Milwaukee's Ramon Sessions scored 27 points and dished eight assists as the Bucks defeated the Nuggets 120-117.
Houston's Von Wafer scored 13 points in 21 minutes. Starting for the Rockets, Aaron Brooks added seven.
Starting for the Orlando Magic, Rafer Alston finished one assist shy of a double-double, scoring 12 points.
Matt Barnes notched 10 points for the Phoenix Suns.
