DETROIT ASSIGNS TWO: The Detroit Pistons yesterday announced the assignment of Alex Acker and Walter Sharpe to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Acker and Sharpe are the 16th and 17th NBA players assigned to the NBA D-League this season.
TUCKER RECALLED TO PHOENIX: Alando Tucker was recalled Friday to the Phoenix Suns after a two-game assignment with the Iowa Energy.
BENSON RETURNS TO DAKOTA: Forward Ron Benson returned to the Dakota Wizards yesterday. Benson played with the Wizards during the 2006-07 Championship season and currently holds the NBA D-League single game rebounding record when he pulled down 28 boards during the 2007-08 season.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Friday's games
CJ Giles scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Dwayne Mitchell finished with 18 points as they lead the D-Fenders to a win over Dakota.
Erik Daniels led all scorers with 28 points to go with 13 rebounds in a Bayhawks win over the Skyforce.
Smush Parker finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while teammate Joey Dorsey, on assignment from the Houston Rockets, scored 16 points and grabbed 12 boards in the win over Albuquerque.
Tulsa's Ronald Dupree netted a game-high 32 points along with 10 assists in the 66ers win over Colorado.
Lance Allred scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Luke Jackson also finished with 23 for Idaho in the win over Bakersfield.
On assignment from the Spurs, Malik Hairston scored 23 points and Toros' teammate Charles Gaines finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Utah. Austin is now on a nine-game winning streak.

33 players with D-League experience competed in 15 NBA games last night, 10 as starters.
Von Wafer scored 18 points for the Houston Rockets.
76ers guard Louis Williams scored 17 points for Philadelphia.
Miami's Daequan Cook scored 10 points for the Heat.
CJ Watson finished with 11 points and six rebounds for Golden State.
