Naturals' Bats Quieted in Loss

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. "" The Arkansas Travelers scored four unanswered runs as they held the Northwest Arkansas Naturals to two hits in a 4-1 victory at Dickey-Stephens Park on Tuesday night

The Naturals scored in the top of the first on a two-out single by Manny Piña that plated Rey Navarro. Navarro reached on a leadoff walk. Navarro recorded the Naturals' second hit in the fifth inning, a one-out single to right field.

The Travelers tied the game in the bottom of the first on a single by C.J. Cron that scored Rolando Gomez. Gomez factored into what proved to be the game-winning run, as his sacrifice fly in the second inning scored Travis Witherspoon. Witherspoon gave the Travs a 4-3 win on Monday night with a walk-off home run.

Kaleb Cowart's two-out double in the seventh inning scored Gomez to give the Travelers a 3-1 lead, with the final run of the night coming on a Drew Heid single in the eighth inning.

Jason Adam takes his fourth loss of the season. He allowed two runs, both earned, on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts in six innings. J.C. Sulbaran allowed two unearned runs on three hits in two innings of work.

Ryan Chaffee earns his first win of 2013, allowing one hit in two scoreless innings for the Travelers. Michael Cisco pitched a scoreless ninth for his first save of the year.

The Naturals and Travelers have a quick turnaround, playing an 11 a.m. game tomorrow morning. Sugar Ray Marimon (2-4, 5.94 ERA) will make the start for the Naturals against Brandon Hynick (2-2, 4.50 ERA).
