Nationals Announce All-Star Selections

The Hamilton Nationals are off to a franchise-best 6-2 start. Today, the second-place team in Major League Lacrosse was rewarded with the selection of five of its players to the 2013 MLL All-Star Game presented by Moe's Southwest Grill.

Kevin Crowley, Joe Walters, Brodie Merrill, Brett Queener and Kevin Cunningham will represent the Nationals at the MLL All-Star Game, which will take place on Saturday, July 13th in Charlotte, NC. The game at American Legion Memorial Stadium will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Crowley receives his first selection to the MLL All-Star Game. The third-year pro leads the league with 35 points, which is three shy of a personal best. He is also tied for the most goals in the MLL with a career-best 26.

Walters is making the sixth All-Star appearance of his career. The Rochester, NY native is tied for sixth in the MLL with 25 points (12+13), which is second on the Nationals. He also ranks second on the Nationals in points. Walters is the team's all-time leader in goals, assists and points.

Merrill received his eighth all-star game selection. The defenseman has played in seven games this season and is sixth in the MLL with 45 ground balls. The sixth-time MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Year and seven-time All-MLL team recipient is the league's all-time leader in ground balls.

Queener will appear in the All-Star Game for the fourth time in his career. The Nationals goalie is 4-1 this season and leads the league with a .620 save percentage. In the win on Saturday over Rochester, he set the Nationals' record for saves in a game with 25. Queener is also third in the MLL with an 11.26 goals-against average.

Cunningham will make his All-Star debut in his rookie season. The Villanova product leads Hamilton with 15 assists and is third on the team with 23 points. In Saturday's win over Rochester, he scored two goals and added two assists.
