National Guard Families Holidays Support Drive

December 17, 2008 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Central Valley Coyotes News Release

Fresno County Fire Protection District/CAL FIRE Fresno/Kings Unit will be teaming up with the Central Valley Coyotes, Steve Philhart (The Barbarian of the Raider Nation), along with other local supporters to collect donations for the holidays. All donations will be given to the Pantry at the Fresno National Guard Office.

The Pantry provides support to the families of deployed National Guard Members. Usually the family member that is deployed is the main income provider. The families take on a huge sacrifice that usually affects them financially.

We will be accepting donations at every fire station in the Fresno County Fire Protection District, CAL FIRE Fresno/Kings Unit. Food donations are encouraged to be food for the holidays; preferably non-perishable food items, Grocery Store Gift Cards, or anything else a family may need. Any cash donations will be converted into Grocery Store Gift Cards. Gift Cards can also be purchased at Kohl's Department Store.

The Christmas Drive will be held on Friday December 19, 2008 and Saturday December 20, 2008 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm both days at the Kohl's parking lot located at 175 E. Alluvial Ave. Fresno, in the River Park area. This will be a drop off point for any donations.

We will also be accepting unwrapped gifts for children of all ages.

Donations can always be dropped off at the National Guard Armory 5575 E. Airways Blvd. Fresno, CA, 93727.

This is an excellent opportunity not only to help those in our communities, but to help the families of those who are sacrificing so much in our military.

Special Thanks to Kohl's Department Store, BJ's Brewery, The Central Valley Coyotes, and TIP's for their help.
