(TORONTO, ON): The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to reveal its new expansion process on the League's website, www.nblcanada.ca.
As Canada's only professional basketball league, the NBL Canada is committed to running a professional and credible basketball league which will provide Canadian and international athletes, coaches, and officials the opportunity to participate in the game they love here in Canada. The League is dedicated to raising awareness of the sport throughout Canada and is proud to provide fans with an exciting, high quality and affordable entertaining experience.
Ian McCarthy, COO of the League, says "Attracting committed, passionate and well- funded owners as the League continues its careful expansion will help to ensure the League's longevity as well as the quality of product that our fans have come to expect."
The process includes critical deadline dates, what the League looks for in an expansion owner, and more.
January 31st, 2013 is the latest date that expansion applications and deposits will be accepted for the 2013-14 season.
