Nate Schierholtz to Rehab at Coca-Cola Park

(Allentown, Pa.) - Phillies OF Nate Schierholtz, recovering from a broken right big toe injury that has sidelined him since August 13, is slated to begin a Major League rehab assignment when the Lehigh Valley IronPigs host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees on Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is the exclusive sponsor of all Major League rehabilitation appearances at Coca-Cola Park.

Tickets for all upcoming IronPigs games can be purchased in-person at Coca-Cola Park, by calling (610) 841-PIGS or online at ironpigsbaseball.com. Prices for single-game start as low as $7 for General Admission, granting fans access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area, the brand-new bar at the Red Robin Tiki Terrace & Oasis along with standing room only areas. Field Level reserved seats are just $10. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as Coca-Cola Park was Minor League Baseball's most visited venue in 2011 with seating capacity reached or surpassed during 60 of the club's 68 home dates.

Schierholtz, 28, was recently acquired by the Phillies in a trade deadline deal that sent Hunter Pence to San Francisco. Prior to sustaining the injury, Schierholtz was hitting .219 with a homer and 2 RBIs in 11 games with the Phillies.

The Reno, Nev. native was originally drafted by San Francisco in the 2nd round of the 2003 draft and made his Major League debut with the Giants in 2007. Over portions of six seasons in Northern California, he hit .270 with 23 homers and 119 RBIs in 503 games. In the 2010 postseason with the Giants, Schierholtz appeared in 11 games as the Giants upset the Phillies in the NLCS on their way to a World Series title.

Sunday's game between the IronPigs and Yankees is also a celebration of the 70's and features an Acrylic Tumbler Cup giveaway to the first 3,000 adults 18 and over presented by Coca-Cola. Please note that Sunday's game is a 1:35 p.m. start.
