
Nate Lowe Wins FSL Player of the Week

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte Stone Crabs first baseman Nathaniel Lowe has been named the Florida State League Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Lowe hit .417 (10-for-24) over six games from April 24-29, connecting on three home runs while driving in nine runs, all of which came during Stone Crabs' two games in Tampa on Friday on Saturday.
The Chesapeake, Va. native scored six times and drew a pair of walks, finishing the week with a .417/.462/.833 line, good for a 1.295 OPS.
For the season, Lowe is batting .393 with an organization-best five home runs and 24 RBI over 23 games. The Mississippi State product leads both the Florida State League and the Rays' organization in hitting. He also paces the FSL in hits (35), on-base percentage (.460), slugging percentage (.640) and total bases (57), while ranking third in RBI and extra-base hits (12).
A two-time Minor League All-Star, Lowe has raised his career batting average to .297 this season, drawing over 100 walks in 205 games (.386 OBP). He has anchored the cleanup spot in every game that he's played for the Stone Crabs this season.
