Nashville SC to Host IMPACT Event with Preston Taylor Ministries
September 9, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - On Tuesday afternoon, Nashville SC will host an event with local middle schoolers from Preston Taylor Ministries as part of the club's IMPACT program. The club will be bringing a pop-up pitch to the kids in order to introduce the game of soccer to new fans and players. All participants will also go home with a free Nashville SC T-shirt.
The event will take place during Preston Taylor Ministries' after school programming at McGruder Family Resource Center in North Nashville. PTM was founded in 1998 in order to help confront issues facing communities in North Nashville, providing mentorship, after school programming and more.
The IMPACT program is Nashville SC and the Tennessee State Soccer Association's initiative to mentor underserved youth through soccer. IMPACT seeks to provide the opportunity for anyone to experience the game no matter their background or economic standing. IMPACT will create a safe, stress free environment for individuals to develop and build important skills, including communication, creativity, collaboration, confidence and consideration. IMPACT hopes to encourage both positive short and long-term changes in individuals' lives throughout Tennessee.
