Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - Between the bites of fried chicken, the sips of Mill Creek Goalden Ale, and the roars of the crowd for Nashville Soccer Club goals, some new fans were getting caught up in Nashville SC fever last weekend.
Last Sunday, Nashville SC hosted a Parking Lot Party at Waldo's Chicken and Beer in Germantown for the club's road match against Bethlehem Steel FC. A packed crowd learned some Nashville SC chants, met other Nashville supporters, and watched the Boys in Gold earn a decisive 4-1 win on the road.
Even for fans that had been to a Nashville SC match before, the intensity of the atmosphere in at the watch party was intoxicating.
"We went to our first game a couple of weeks ago and we saw them doing all of the chants, and we were like 'How do they all know that?'" said NSC fan Ashley Chasse. "Now coming here and them teaching it to us is really cool. It's cool to be a part of it."
Before the match began, some of Nashville SC's most diehard supporters led the partygoers in gameday chants and songs, and the chanting continued into the match with every Nashville SC goal. The close interaction with other fans gave fans that sit away from the Supporters' Section at First Tennessee Park the chance to get into the atmosphere even more.
"I thought it was so much fun because when we go to the games, we sit in just regular seats," said NSC season ticket member Landy Fink. "I was saying next time we need to get season tickets in the fan section. It's so hype. The energy is really fun."
The watch party also brought out the diverse group of Nashvillians that makes the soccer community so unique.
"I feel like it's brought a lot of the community together and just diversity in the community," said NSC fan Kim Carper. "Because it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, everybody that's a supporter for the Soccer Club has come out and just bonded together."
If you missed out on last week's watch party, you'll have another chance to hang out with Nashville SC fans and catch the Boys in Gold in action this Sunday. Our next watch party is being held in partnership with Vanderbilt Women's Soccer and will feature a doubleheader at Corner Pub Downtown for the U.S. Women's National Team World Cup match against Chile, followed by Nashville SC's matchup with Hartford Athletic. Specials include $1 off appetizers, $4 Goalden drafts, and $8 SC Teas. All Goalden Drafts and purchased soft drinks will come in a USA-themed cup.
