American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(NASHUA, NH, September 2, 2007) Two third-inning Grays hits and two Nashua errors put the Pride into a 4-1 hole that they could never recover from losing 6-4 to the visitors Sunday afternoon in front of 1,257 fans at Historic Holman Stadium on Nashua Dodgers Throwback Day. The loss prevented the Pride from clinching the fourth and final playoff berth. The Pride's magic number remains at one and can clinch with either a win tomorrow, on the final day of the season, or a Quebec loss tonight or tomorrow.

The Pride jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when John Ramistella singled and later scored on a wild pitch by Gray's starter Beau Dannemiller (9-6).

The Grays jumped out ahead in the third inning, scoring four unearned runs off of Pride starter Tim Bausher (4-5). Gray's catcher Josue Gonzalez picked up one of his two hits on the night and came around to score off of an error by Bausher.

Nashua cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Pride leftfielder Bryan Duplissie hit his 17th homerun of the season to leadoff the inning. That was as close as Nashua would come on the day, eventually falling 6-4.

The Pride can secure a playoff spot tomorrow night when they close out the 2007 regular season against the Grays in the rubber-match of this three-game series at 6:05 in Nashua. Hideki Nagasaka (10-1, 2.94) will take the mound for the Pride with Dustin Nielsen (5-3, 4.77) slated to start for the visitors.
