FC Tulsa News Release
Tulsa's new, outdoor professional soccer team is asking for your help. The team and Tulsa World Media Company are asking soccer fans to help develop the official name and nickname for the new USL PRO soccer franchise that will begin play in the spring of 2015 at ONEOK Field.
Starting today and running through Wednesday, February 5, fans will have the chance to submit possible names for the new team through a Name Your Team Contest at TulsaWorld.com. During this period, fans can submit ideas and suggestions for the team name.
Judges will use the submissions to produce a list of finalists, before a second round of the contest will accept fan votes to determine the team's official name.
Fans wishing to submit names can go online to www.TulsaWorld.com/NameYourTeam to access the contest.
Following completion of the second round of the contest, one fan who submitted the winning name will be chosen as a Grand Prize Winner. The winner will receive four season tickets to the team's inaugural season, a parking pass, an official personalized team jersey and other prizes.
Tulsa's new USL PRO soccer team will begin play in March 2015 with the season running through early September. Home games will be played at ONEOK Field. The Tulsa Drillers are the majority owners of the franchise.
