MACON, Ga. - The Macon Knights unveiled their new mascot for the 2006 season today at the Totes for Tots suitcase drive. This was also the first day of the "Name the Mascot" competition.
The people who donated bags to the Totes for Tots drive were the first to enter into the contest to name the Knights new mascot. The Knights front office will select a winner before the start of the 2006 season and that person will be awarded two season tickets for the '06 season. For information on how to participate in the "Name the Mascot" competition visit the Knights website at www.maconknights.com. Completed registration forms can be mailed to the Macon Knights Marketing department or faxed to (478) 314-3001.
The Totes for Tots suitcase drive collected 257 bags in the Middle Georgia area and over 1,800 bags in the whole state of Georgia. The number of bags collected in the 2006 drive is almost double the amount of bags collected last year.
