NAHL Aids Montana Cancer Family Network

May 7, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Helena Bighorns News Release

Montana NAHL hockey teams teamed up this winter and spring to support Montana families battling cancer. Paired with a local restaurant, the Bozeman Icedogs, Billings Bulls and Helena Bighorns participated in the annual Cancer Family Network's TIP-A-TEAM competition. Hockey team members tied up their aprons and honed their waiter skills while helping to serve tables and sign autographs at local restaurants.

The Billings Bulls took home the First Prize plaque again this year, raising $1,695 in one night at the Texas Roadhouse in Billings. Together all the teams and restaurants raised $3,262 to support this year's two week-long family summer cancer camps in July. The Bozeman Icedogs and Bennigan's Grill and Tavern came in second place and the Helena Bighorn players and the Golden Corral came in third place this year.

FOA programs are cost-free for Montana families going through a cancer experience, whether the adult or child are diagnosed. FOA serves over 200 families a year across the state from Libby to Miles City and many large and very rural communities in between.
