
Myrtle Beach Pelicans Win First Game in Their Homestand Against Fredericksburg Nationals 2-0

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Fayetteville Woodpeckers faced off in Game 1 of the series at Pelicans Ballpark.
The Woodpeckers struck first with a homerun by #36 Joey Loperfido in the first inning.
Myrtle Beach would tie the game once more with their own homerun by #54 Kevin Made in the bottom of the first.
Pelicans' second baseman, #38 Juan Mora, would give the Birds their first lead of the game with a homerun in the bottom of the second. This would be their last run.
Once more tying the game, Fayetteville center-fielder #1 Logan Cerny hit an RBI single in the top of the third.
In the top of the eighth, the Woodpeckers would hit two more homeruns. The first being a solo homerun by #44 Rainier Rivas, and the second being a two-run homerun by #1 Logan Cerny.
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers took Game 1, 5-3, against the Pelicans. The two teams will face again in Game 2 of the series, on July 13th.
