DURHAM, N.C. â New Jersey right-hander Aaron Myers and St. Paul left-hander Jake Whitney have been chosen as the Daktronics Northern League Pitchers of the Week for July 15 through July 21.
New Jersey's Travis Bailey and Allentown's Stephen Larkin were Daktronics co-players of the week in the East and Sioux Falls outfielder Jake Burnham was player of the week in the Central Division.
Myers, 26, did not give up an earned run in two outings covering 16 innings. He limited Brockton to one unearned run in a complete game on July 17 and did the same feat over seven innings against Quebec on July 21.

Whitney, 26, is in his second season in St. Paul. He threw a five-hit shutout versus Fargo-Moorhead on July 18 to earn the Central pitching award.

Bailey, a right-fielder for New Jersey who was today voted to start for the East All-Star team, went 15-for-26 (.577) with a 1.154 slugging percentage, .571 on-base percentage and four homers during the week.

Larkin, the younger brother of Cincinnati star Barry Larkin, led the league in RBIs for the week with 14. The younger Larkin played one game in the big leagues with the Reds in 1998.
