Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
BILLINGS, MT - The Missoula PaddleHeads' offense would be seemingly knocking at the door all night offensively in action with the Billings Mustangs. The PaddleHeads would nearly finish with double the amount of hits in the contest when things were all said and done. Trailing by 1 run in the final 2 innings, the PaddleHeads offense would also mount threatening sequences in an attempt to erase a 1-run deficit. With some bad luck playing a role in the 9th, Billings would find a way to escape the late innings unscathed.
With a runner aboard in the 9th, Colin Gordon would drive a ball deep into the outfield in right. A strong prevailing wind would play a role in keeping the ball in the yard as the ball would hit off the base of the wall. In an unlucky sequence, Mike Rosario would then lose hit footing making the turn for home representing the tying run. The ensuing rundown on the bases would eventually lead to the 2nd out of the inning. The PaddleHeads would then be turned away offensively once more leaving a runner stranded at 3rd as the final out was recorded in a 5-4 loss to Billings.
