
Musketeers Race Past Fargo in Regular Season Finale

(Sioux City, IA) - A three-goal second period helped propel the Sioux City Musketeers to a 4-1 victory over Fargo Saturday night in the regular season finale for both teams.
The Force led 1-0 after the first period but Justin Hryckowian tied the game with a power play goal 1:14 into the second frame. Carter Loney found the back of the net twice within a two-minute span later in the period and Brian Carrabes capped the scoring with an empty net goal in the final minutes of regulation.
Akira Schmid, the game's number one star, finished the night with 34 saves and ends the regular season as the USHL leader in both goals against average (2.01) and save percentage (.921%).
The Musketeers close the regular season having won 12 of their last 13 games with a 31-21-1 overall record. Sioux City will be the 3-seed in the Western Conference entering the Clark Cup playoffs and will battle Omaha in a best-of-three conference semifinal series. Game 1 will be Saturday, May 1 at 6:05pm with Game 2 set for Sunday, May 2 at 4:05pm. A winner-take-all Game 3 (if necessary) will be Monday, May 3 at 6:05pm with all three games taking place in Omaha.
