LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Wednesday that Muskegon Fury right wing Robin Bouchard has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month and Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Kevin St. Pierre has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
Bouchard completed the month with 23 points (12g, 11a) in 14 games played. He opened the month with a six-point night (3g, 3a), including a "hat trick", vs. Fort Wayne on December 2nd. At the time, the six points tied teammate Jeff Nelson for the league season high for points in a game. He had at least one goal in ten games during the month. In addition to his eight power play goals, Bouchard also converted on all three of his attempts in shootouts in December. The 32-year-old native of Jonquiere, Quebec had his point streak stopped at 27 games on December 30th. The mark was one game shy of tying the UHL single season record (Paul Polillo, 1995-1996). The Fury winger currently leads the UHL in goals (28), power play goals (16), and is second in scoring with 53 points (28g, 25a).
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Danbury center David Hymovitz, Elmira center Chris Chaput, Flint defenseman Adam Sturgeon, Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk, Kalamazoo center Tyler Rennette, Missouri right wing Jim Duhart, Motor City center Adam Edinger, Port Huron left wing Brett Lutes, Quad City right wing Chad Woollard, Richmond center Mike Oliveira, Roanoke left wing David Beauregard, and Rockford center Yannick Tifu.
St. Pierre finished the month with a 9-4-0 record, a 2.03 goals against average (GAA), a .928 save percentage (SPCT), and one shutout. He made 347 saves during the month and had an eight-game winning streak. On the final day of 2005, he stopped all 21 Roanoke Valley Vipers shots to earn his first shutout of the season. It was his 16th UHL shutout which moved him into sole possession of first place on the UHL all-time career list. Prior to the 2005-06 season, he was tied with Joe Dimaline (15). The 30-year-old native of Sherbrooke, Quebec currently has a 12-7-1 record this season. He ranks third among UHL goaltenders with a 2.27 GAA and fifth with a .920 SPCT.
