Marietta Storm News Release
In their home arena at Life University during a Father's Day gospel celebration, Marietta gave the fans something to cheer about. The Storm ended their drought by winning against the leading Western Division Murfreesboro Musicians. Under the leadership of new head coach Courtney Brooks, players seem more prepared and played a well executed game.
Leading the Storm in scoring were the dynamic duo Jamario Moon with 26 points and Darryl MaJic Dorsey with 22 points, 9 assists and 3 steals. Center Mike Benton had a double-double 21 points and 10 rebounds. Recently aquired Leroy Hickerson finished with 20 points followed by Charles Ward with 14. The Storm's bench played a significant part in Sunday night's victory.
With the solid effort by Murfreesboro's William Pippen-30 points, Tommy Gunn-38 points and Cedric McGinnis with 17 points and 14 rebounds, the Musicians were unable to keep their winning streak going.
