Augusta Lynx News Release
Maymont, Sask. native Steve Munn has come to terms with the Augusta Lynx for 2004-05, the club announced today.
Munn, 26, came to the Lynx as future considerations to complete the trade of Marc St. Jean to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies late last season. St. Jean never played a game for the Lynx, while Munn split last season between the Bullies and American Hockey League's Bridgeport SoundTigers. While with Bridgeport Munn recorded one assist in six regular season games to go with 11 PIMs, and played in four playoff contests with 4 PIMS as well. With Atlantic City, the 6-2, 215 lb. rearguard appeared in 63 games, recording one goal and 11 points with 136 PIMs. Munn also played four post-season games with the Bullies, recording no points and 16 PIMs. He led the team in plus/minus last season with a +30 rating, and also won a Kelly Cup with the club in 2002-03.
"Steve is a stay-at-home, defensive defenseman," said Lynx Head Coach and Director of Player Operations Stan Drulia. "He's great in his own zone, and takes care of the front of the net. We think he'll make a solid anchor for us on defense this year."
With Munn on board, the Lynx now have 13 players headed to camp: Munn, Sean Connolly, Terry Marchant, Mark Scott, Jason Saal, Louis Goulet, Todd Bennett, Jarrett Thompson, Treavor Peterson, Lawne Snyder, Dean Jackson, Jeremy Symington, and Josh St. Louis. Full and partial season tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office by calling (706) 724-4423, or stopping by the office at 712 Telfair St. in downtown Augusta. Fans may also purchase season tickets on the team's web site at www.augustalynx.com. Full season seats start as low as $340 each! The Lynx also have information on their Small Business Plan available. Welcome to THE YEAR OF THE FAN.
