March 14, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

3/9 3-1 win vs. Youngstown

The Mudbugs snapped an eight game win streak for the Youngstown SteelHounds last Friday, controlling the tempo of the game for a full 60 minutes. Goaltender John DeCaro held Youngstown scoreless until the 15:37 mark of the third period. Chris and Cam Abbott each had a goal and an assist and Karlis Zirnis scored the only second period goal of the game.

3/10 2-1 OT win vs. Oklahoma City

Goaltenders stole the show during Saturday night's contest with Sean Connors of Oklahoma City and Kenny Carroll of Bossier-Shreveport shutting out the opposition through two periods of play. Chris Abbott worked a two-on-one break and fed his brother in front of the cage for the lone Mudbugs goal of regulation. Dan Wildfong answered the bell in overtime to beat Connors and sure up the win for the Mudbugs.

3/13 5-1 win vs. Laredo

Cam and Chris Abbott each had four points as the Mudbugs lit the lamp behind Laredo goaltender Eric Marvin five times. John DeCaro turned in another gem between the pipes, stopping a high-octane Laredo offense on 35 of 36 attempts. The Bucks have never won a game in regular season play at CenturyTel Center and their winless streak continues as they were out-scored 10 to 2 during two games at the CTC this season.
