ESCAPING IN OVERTIME - Dan Wildfong scored just forty-two seconds into overtime as the Mudbugs survived a collapse and defeated the Fort Worth Brahmas 6-5 in front of 4,992 fans at the CenturyTel Center on Friday night. Just 18 seconds into the third period, Cory Stillman scored to begin a string of four straight Brahmas goals as Fort Worth overcame a 4-1 deficit to take a 5-4 lead. The Mudbugs would finally come back to life with 1:49 left in the third as Quade Lightbody jammed in a loose puck around the crease to tie the game at 5-5. In overtime, Campbell notched his fourth assist and fifth point of the game as Dan Wildfong grabbed his rebound and backhanded a low shot past Brahmas goaltender Larry Sterling for the Mudbugs' third overtime win of the year.
DOMINATING IN REGULATION - Chris Brassard scored his first two goals of the season and Ken Carroll made 23 saves as the Mudbugs defeated the Fort Worth Brahmas 5-0 in front of 5,840 fans at the CenturyTel Center on Saturday night. The win improves the Mudbugs' record to 11-9-2 this season and increases their first place lead in the Northeast Division to three points. After a scoreless first period, Ryan Manitowich capitalized on a Mudbugs power play chance as he walked along the goal line and roofed a shot past Brahmas goaltender Larry Sterling for his 11th goal of the season. Later in the second, Craig Minard took a Brassard pass and fired a shot past Sterling from the high slot for another power play strike at 15:41. Brassard finally would pick up his first goal of the year at 8:05 of the third period with a right circle wrist shot for his third point of the game. Jason Basile and Brassard added further insurance to seal a 5-0 win, the Mudbugs' fourth straight over Fort Worth.

Jason Campbell - Became the 12th player in Mudbugs history to score 5 points in a single regular season game on Friday

POWER PLAY AT BUFFALO WILD WINGS ON TUESDAY!- On Tuesday December 20th, the Mudbugs' radio show, "Power Play with Scott Muscutt" will return to Buffalo Wild Wings on the Louisiana Boardwalk at 6:00 p.m.. Tuesday's guests on the Christmas edition will include Mudbugs forward Jason Campbell and his family.
MUSCUTT REACHES 200-WIN MILESTONE - With his team's victory on Saturday night at the CenturyTel Center, Mudbugs Head Coach Scott Muscutt earned the 200th win of his professional coaching career. He becomes the eighth head coach in CHL/WPHL history to reach the mark and the fifth fastest (345 games) behind only Doug Sauter, Doug Shedden, Chris Stewart, and Bruce Garber.
MUDBUGS NOTES - Forward Scott Sheppard has now played in nine games this season for the Mudbugs' AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, who went 1-1-1 in three games this weekend..... The Mudbugs scored a season-high four power play goals on Saturday night..... The Mudbugs are now 9-2-0 when scoring first this season.
THIS WEEK - This week, the Mudbugs host the Wichita Thunder on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. for the first time since last season's Northern Conference Semifinals playoff series. Then on Friday night, the Mudbugs will visit the Memphis RiverKings at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on News Radio 710 AM KEEL.
