SHUTTING DOWN THE RAYZ - With goals from four different goal scorers and 35 saves from Ken Carroll, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs defeated the Corpus Christi Rayz on Thursday night 4-1 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Bossier-Shreveport began the game with several impressive shifts and Brett Smith gave them a 1-0 lead by jamming in a Chad Spurr rebound. Dan Wildfong would make it 2-0 later in the first with a deflection at 13:39.

TAKING ADVANTAGE - On Friday night, the Mudbugs defeated the Corpus Christi Rayz for the second consecutive evening at the American Bank Center, 3-2. Dale Lupul, Dan Wildfong, and Brett Smith would all score on two five minute power play chances in the second period to build a 3-1 lead. The Rayz' Mike Lukajic made it a one-goal game in the third, but the Mudbugs hung on behind a 30 save effort from goaltender David Cacciola.

THE PERFECT ROAD TRIP - On Saturday night, the Mudbugs completed a perfect three-game road trip with their eighth win in their last nine games as they shut out the Fort Worth Brahmas 3-0 in front of 8,113 fans at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The Mudbugs' overall record this season is now 23-13-5.

Ken Carroll - Recorded his 20th career shutout and allowed just one goal in two games

MUDBUGS IN THE COMMUNITY Wednesday February 8th - Copeland's Bugs at Your Service - Mudbugs players will be serving dinner from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and all tips collected will benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Thursday February 9th - Longview Mall - All Mudbugs players will be signing autographs on Thursday evening.

POWER PLAY AT BUFFALO WILD WINGS OFF THIS WEEK- Due to the Mudbugs game on Tuesday, "Power Play with Scott Muscutt" will not take place this week.

CARROLL GIVEN WEEKLY HONOR - With just one goal against in two games this week, Ken Carroll has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week by the Central Hockey League. Carroll made 35 saves in a 4-1 victory on Thursday in Corpus Christi and then posted his league-leading fourth shutout of the year on Saturday night with a 3-0 win in Fort Worth. He is 6-0-1 in his last seven games with just 11 goals against.

SHEPPARD REASSIGNED - The Rochester Americans, the Mudbugs' AHL affiliate, have reassigned forward Scott Sheppard to Bossier-Shreveport. In 21 games at hockey's "AAA" level, Sheppard scored five goals and seven assists and earned the call up on December 1st after scoring 18 goals in 15 games for the Mudbugs.

THIS WEEK - This week, the Mudbugs will begin a four-game homestand with a Tuesday night showdown against the Corpus Christi Rayz at 7:05 p.m. Kitchen Concepts invites all fans to another "Two Dollar Tuesday" with bronze level seats available for just two dollars. On Friday, the Mudbugs will host the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m. with International Used Truck Center inviting all Mudbugs fans. Then Saturday will be the annual "NASCAR Night" with the Mudbugs wearing special NASCAR jerseys sponsored by Nelson Oil & Gas in their game against the Laredo Bucks at 7:05 p.m. It will also be "Bikini and Mullet Night".
