
Mudbugs Sign Former Monroe Moccasin

BOSSIER CITY, LA â The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs announced today that they have added forward Darren Dougan to their roster for tonight's game against the Corpus Christi IceRays. Dougan last played during the 2000-01 season with the WPHL's Monroe Moccasins.
In four seasons with Monroe, Dougan notched 90 goals and 166 assists for 256 points in 221 games. He is the Moccasins' all-time leading point scorer.
Dougan's four-year span with the Moccasins lasted from 1997-2001. His best season as a professional came in his rookie season of 1997-98, when he led Monroe in scoring with 80 points (29 goals, 51 assists). He also led the team with 74 points (28 goals, 46 assists) in 2000-01. In 1998-99, he also played 31 games for the Central Texas Stampede, as well as one game in 1997-98 with the Utah Grizzlies of the International Hockey League.
The 5'11 195-pound forward hails from Azilda, Ontario and is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Mudbugs take on the Corpus Christi IceRays.
